Practical governance: making decisions cooperatively
This session looked at the different ways coops of different types and at different scales interpret the democratic principle in real life. Participants had the opportunity to reflect on their own experience of the way decisions get made in organisations they’ve been involved with, and experiment with some of the governance tools used by contemporary coops to make faster, better decisions while equalising participation and driving down management costs – the real ‘cooperative advantage’.
